Where have the Paramedics gone?
It is estimated that 1100-1200 new paramedics are needed annually across the province. In Niagara, we arenāt just fighting a provincial shortage; we are facing a local exodus. The region struggles to attract and recruit new paramedics while paramedics continue to look for work elsewhere. The region continues to become a training ground for services for the higher-paying, better-staffed services in the GTA and Hamilton area.
